Kevin Belanger, Designer

I entered the pool industry in 2000 as a designer for a small company in New England. I moved to Florida in 2012 to seek year around work and was hired by Intercoastal Pools .

I enjoy designing pools and seeing the concept come to life and people enjoying there backyard oasis with there families.

It is a very rewarding career and I love what I do. If you are ready to add your own oasis give me a call I would be glad to help.

Pre-Appointment Information and some backyard family fun:

You and your designer have spoken and confirmed a scheduled appointment. While you are waiting we created a to-do or think about list to help give you an idea of what will be happening. We also left a blank section for you to write your questions down to go over with the designer. Do not feel that you have to do the backyard fun area section some have found that they get better backyard vision.

There is a lot of information about building a custom concrete swimming pool  and we want you to be prepared as best as possible for your initial meeting.

Checklist of things to have, research or obtain for your appointment:

Financing: We do not offer pool financing however we have partners that other clients have used and have been very happy with. We always suggest to contact your local bank or financial advisor, they know you the best and will come up with various options that should meet your needs (or at least give you a budget to start with). If you would like to work with our financial partners please visit our website at: http://icpoolspa.com/financing.html

Questions:____________________________        Completed: ___

Copy of your Property Survey: This helps identify any easements, building setbacks on both sides and rear of property, plus any other restrictions on the property.  It also helps with future equipment access and determines the size of the machine needed. If you do not have a survey (you can contact your municipality to see if they potentially have one on file) or hire a surveyor.

Questions:______________________________       Completed: ___

Septic and Well Water locates: If you have these systems it is a good idea to have a company locate the drain fields, tank (s) if they are clearly not marked on your survey. If it is an old survey you may want to update. If you are unsure contact your designer and they can give you a list of surveyors to contact.

Questions:______________________________       Completed: ___

Overhead wires, underground utilities, and obstructions: If you have electric or cables wires that will be running through the “new pool area” they will have to be moved prior to excavation. (We do call Sunshine 811 before we excavate to make sure every utility has been flagged for underground obstructions). What do we need to remove in the future pool area.

Questions:_____________________________       Completed: ___

Homeowner Associations: If you live in a community you will want to check with them about what you need to do to get a swimming pool installed.

Let’s have some fun grab a 100’ garden hose, measuring tape and some stakes or flags:

Pool Area: Take the garden hose and layout on the lawn the shape you think you would like your pool to be.  Think about how deep you want it: standard (3’shallow-6’ deep end), play pool (3’shallow-6’center-4’ end), lap pool etc.

Spa: Want a spa add another hose (standard round spas are usually 6’ to 6-1/2’). By doing this you will have some basic ideas on the shape and size that you want.

Pool Deck: Take your stakes/flags and place them around the garden hose to get an idea how large you want the size of the pool deck area. Some customers have used empty cardboard boxes for a waterfalls, tables in pool area, etc. Set a chair in the deck area where you think you would like to set furniture or place the grill. Let your mind create your vision, it does help.
